A project piece with good bones makes for a great makeover! I found this little mid-century beauty on Facebook Marketplace and loved its clean lines and scale. The piece itself was solid, just in need of a little attention. The top had some damage but shaped up with some sanding, stain and polyurethane. I painted the sides gray and used a black glaze to give it some dimension. I used gold Rub n Buff on the drawer pulls and casters!

In addition to that, there was one vanity that I hadn’t replaced over the years because it was really a big project to include addressing the flooring. The vanity was builder grade and original to the home. It looked dated but I wasn’t going to invest in any elaborate renovation at that point –...
Refinished Drafting Table Turned Desk
I love the story behind old furniture and frequently think of the original owners while I work on making the piece pretty again. This beautiful find, was sitting in the basement of an estate sale home, under a bunch of pots and pans. The previous owner used this drafting table 50-60 years ago. The top showed signs of wear, including the pinpoints used to hold down the drafting paper. This table was one of my favorite finds and “before and after” transformations. Not only was the cost only $30, it was relatively easy to refinish. The table was in rough...
