Kitchen Reno Florida Villa

Kitchen Reno Florida Villa

Taking down a couple walls in this kitchen had such a huge impact to the entire living space. Here is where it started. This is a 2 bedroom 2 bath villa in Florida. Originally intended to be a flip — but, I’m holding onto it for awhile.

The wall between the kitchen and dining room was demoed. And the wall between the kitchen and the hallway was taken down as well.

Peninsula

A wall was added for the peninsula. Some detail, using scrap wood added some interest to the island.

With the walls removed, there was a lot of room for cabinetry. I selected white cabinets, mostly because this was intended to be a flip. I added color to the island. This is BM Hidden Falls (color) and SW paint.

Stove Hood and Shelves

In addition to the different color island, we added a hood over the stove and wood shelves to add some warmth/color.

French Door

There was a slider in the kitchen which was replaced with a French door. It was a non-custom door from Home Depot. New case mouldings were added to all the windows and doors.

Backsplash

The backsplash tile was purchased from Wayfair. I looked quite some time and selected this. I wanted some variation in color and texture without being distracting. I used Musselbound adhesive for the first time which worked out very well. I am a messy tiler, so this was much cleaner and faster. Since the walls were very flat, this product worked out very well. I purchased from Lowes and Amazon.

Cabinets, Countertops and Hardware

I found the cabinet hardware (picture above) on Facebook Marketplace. The knobs are available through Home Depot as well.

The cabinets and countertops were sourced from a supplier in Miami (Good Granite Guys). The countertops are quartz.

Lighting

Canned lights were added overhead and brighten things up quite a bit. The pendants were sourced through a liquidator, but originally Home Depot fixtures.
