DIY Spray Paint Workspace Must Haves

DIY Spray Paint Workspace Must Haves

If you are a DIYer there is a good chance you are painting in your garage. I love a sprayed finish, so I mostly use a paint sprayer to apply paint. Over the years, I have found several tricks that work well when setting up your painting area.

paint booth

If you are spraying smaller pieces, this DIY spray booth is easy to make and assemble/disassemble as you need it. I used it to paint kitchen cabinet doors and it worked well as I was painting a cabinet door at a time!

From time to time, I spray larger furniture pieces so I needed a larger spray booth and one that I could tuck away in between projects! I purchased enough Flexible, Bendable Curtain Track and Shower Curtain Liner for a 7′ x 8′ area. The track was attached to the ceiling and the liner attached to the track. The track comes with hooks to hang. I purchased clear liner so it would allow the light to come through. The liner slides easily along the track.

retractable extension cord

I do a lot of work in my garage using various tools. I don’t know why I waited so long to install this retractable extension cord. I use it all the time!

overhead light

This type of overhead light plugs into the existing overhead light already in the garage. No complicated installation needed. (Just my speed!) This is the type of light I purchased.

furniture dollies

It can be tough to move larger pieces of furniture around while painting. I have used these furniture dollies to make moving the piece around much easier!

Hope you found these tips helpful! They have sure worked out well for me!
