Got a faded old flag sitting around from last summer? Don’t throw it out—give it a glow-up! This simple DIY turns that worn flag into a cool, patriotic wall hanging just in time for Memorial Day or the 4th of July. It’s easy, it’s creative, and yep—it looks amazing when you’re done.

you’ll need:
Old flag
Ribbons/fabric strips
Scissors, pins, needle/sewing machine
Gold fringe or trim
steps
Cut the Stripes:
Cut between each stripe from bottom to top, stopping before the stars—keep them attached to the flag.
Add Ribbons:
Pin ribbons or fabric strips behind the flag near the header. Trim to stripe length.

Sew in Place:
Sew ribbons to the flag along the edge where stripes meet the stars.

Finish with Trim:
Attach gold fringe along the top and under the stars to cover stitching.

I love how this looks and it is stunning in the room! This is very customizable using neutral ribbon and fabrics, as an example! Happy creating!
