Dollhouse Kitchen Details

The kitchen is one of my favorite rooms in the dollhouse. I love how they came together and proud of myself that I managed to build the cabinets, hood and island. So tiny!!!

Cabinets

I took inspiration from @dearlillie’s blogpost on how to build the cabinets. I used craft boards from the Dollar Tree. In some cases, I used a miter saw for some cuts and a coping saw for others. The board was thick enough that a knife wasn’t efficient. I think a scroll saw would have worked well.

I built the refrigerator and island first. The front panel of the island is from a lantern panel from the Dollar Tree. (And, also the same panels used in the bedroom for wall decor.) I glued (E600) two support pieces on the interior to support the farmhouse sink.)

Tip: Ensure the cabinet size is the correct scale for the dolls to be used with the house. Somehow I messed this up and then, used beads on the bottom to raise the height of the cabinets. It all worked out in the end.

The “shaker” cabinet detail was added with slim craft sticks from Hobby Lobby. These were easy to cut with scissors.

A cup hook was used for the kitchen faucet and adhesive gems for the water knobs. The countertops were made from the same material as the cabinets. I painted a faux marble design. The stove top burners are buttons! The pendant lighting is made from essential roller lids and the chain is from an old necklace.

I purchased the wallpaper from Etsy and it was adhered with spray adhesive.

Such a fun room!!!
