Homemade (DIY’d) Dog Treats

Homemade (DIY’d) Dog Treats

This is a great Christmas gift (or, anytime) for a puppy in your life! Sure it’s easier to purchase dog treats online or from a store. But, homemade gifts are thoughtful and these are a favorite of my rescue puppy, Beau!

I have made these for years (my last rescue loved them as well)! It is fun to use different shape cookie cutters depending on the occasion. ( I used vintage cookie cutters from my cousin, Margaret! Use what you have!)

INGREDIENTS

2 C Whole wheat flour

1 C oatmeal

1/3 C peanut butter

2T natural honey

1 C hot water

Dog bone cookie cutters (small commissioned earned)

directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Using a mixer, combine ingredients. If too sticky, add more flour. If too dry, add more hot water.

Knead dough and roll out with a rolling pin.

Cut out shapes using cookie cutters

Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper

Bake approximately 17-20 minutes
