Need Thanksgiving and Fall decor that is simple and affordable? Look no further! This project was super easy and cost almost nothing! Use your imagination and resourcefulness to make your own outdoor decor for any holiday or occasion!
WOOD
This is a piece of fence that I found while walking my dogs on garbage day. So, the price tag was $0. Right up my alley! I did make a spectacle of myself getting it home, but what is a day without embarrassing yourself or others. 🙂 . Obviously you can use a variety of materials for main structure of the decor like pallet or scrap wood or something purchased from a home or craft store.
PAINT
As I needed only a small quantity, I used sample paint, Sherwin Williams’ Husky Orange to cover the wood. While I know sample paint does not have the same properties (lasting) as a quart/gallon of paint, I wanted to keep this project on the inexpensive side, so sample paint did the trick.
I used Sherwin Williams spray paint to paint the letters.
LETTERS
While I have seen wording on these signs stenciled, the easier route for me was to purchase the letters and adhere them to the wood. Both Jo-Ann Fabrics or Hobby Lobby carry wooden letters. The letters were on sale. (Never pay full price at either store.)
