Make Your Pantry Custom

Make Your Pantry Custom

The pantry is a key feature in a kitchen so why not make it look custom? This newly built pantry was a blank slate and needed some interest with pattern, color and dimension.

The wall paint is Sherwin Williams Alabaster – one of my “go to’s” for ceilings, mouldings and walls. I had a stencil made in the same pattern as the backsplash tile and used three colors I had on hand, in an attempt to replicate the tile. (Sherwin Williams Alpaca, Alabaster, Pewter Cast)

Taking a queue from the wooden ledge in the kitchen, these faux floating shelves are stained the same color as the ledge and vinyl plank flooring. The top is 3/4 inch plywood and the bottom is 1/4 plywood. I used 3 inch common board for the front piece.

A rookie mistake – I assumed the walls would be square and the plywood would easily fit. There was a lot of trimming to get these to fit. I also didn’t anticipate the cement wall behind the drywall on the right side. Nonetheless, I really like how these turned out. A great little detail for the space.
